Building Africa: Exploring Opportunities Within The Intra-Africa Real Estate Market — Olowora Fawaz

Despite Africa’s growth in human capital, economy, infrastructure, and other developmental indices, there exists an array of unexplored potentials and opportunities, especially in the real estate sector, which has grown significantly over the past decade(s).

Therefore, it is of utmost importance to create a platform that addresses the issue of exploiting this opportunity for the progress of the continent.

GIDI Intra Africa Realtors’ Conference is one such platform. It is a cross-border platform organised to facilitate a dialogue on and proffer solutions to the socio-economic problems of the African real estate industry, primarily housing deficits, its growth and development, intra-industry coordination,, and information exchange on the continent.

This piece examines the essence of the conference as it gathers key stakeholders of African real estate in a progressive consortium.

Gidi IARC is birthed under the need to contribute to the ongoing discussion on the continent’s real estate market, its most recurring problem—housing deficits, and facilitate an Intra-African real estate coordination for the growth of the sector on the global stage.

In the long term, it wants to serve as a reference for the stakeholders of the industry looking to gain new insights into the state of the continent’s real estate, how to move it forward and offer enduring solutions to its many problems.

It could be recalled that the event headlined last year, at Gambia, with focus on inquiring innovation and investment in the Africa real estate industry.

The second edition furthers this inquiry by focusing on the area of unexplored opportunities in the continent’s real estate, in a bid to further the company’s goal of resolving Africa’s housing deficit by contributing 2% of sustainable and cost-effective housing to the continent’s housing.

This event is to hold in South Africa, from September 27, 2024 to October 5, 2024.
